Hi, i'm Coach Carmo

Hello! I am Aureliano Borges Carmo, widely known as Coach Carmo. Born in 1961 in the vibrant city of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, I have dedicated my life to the world of gymnastics. With a rich history as a former gymnastics Olympic Coach in Seoul 1988, I've evolved into the proud owner of Royal Gymnastics Inc., a mobile gymnastics school based in Sugar Land, Texas, that caters to children aged 2 to 10 years. My journey in gymnastics has been intertwined with personal accomplishments, international experiences, and a commitment to promoting a healthy and active lifestyle.

Biography:
 Born in Rio de Janeiro in 1961, I, Aureliano Borges Carmo, have been immersed in the world of gymnastics since my early years. A former gymnastics Olympic Coach in Seoul 1988, I've dedicated my life to the sport, achieving numerous State, National, and South American Championships. My passion for gymnastics led me to become the first coach in Brazil to win all Gold Medals in a National Competition, with the unique distinction of coaching a gymnast to obtain a perfect 10.00.
 Having spent 25 years in Rio de Janeiro, a year in Frankfurt, Germany, and 32 years in New Jersey, USA, I currently reside in Sugar Land, Texas, with my wife Claudia Carmo, the first gymnast to represent Brazil in the Olympic Games – Moscow 1980. Together, we have three sons: Phillip, Peter, and Patrick.
My journey as a gymnastics professional has been marked by significant milestones. Fluent in English, Portuguese, and conversational Spanish, I hold both United States and Brazilian citizenships. As the Brazilian National Coach in the World Championship - Rotterdam 1987 and the Olympic Coach in Seoul 1988, I've proudly contributed to the success of gymnastics on the global stage.
 
Business Expertise:
 With over 30 years of experience in the health club and gymnastics industry, I possess a unique blend of skills in business development, operations management, and human resources. My expertise includes competitive market intelligence, strategic planning, leadership, and a proven track record of turning around underperforming operations.
As the owner and coach of Royal Gymnastics since 2013, I've led a groundbreaking children's program designed to bring the joy of gymnastics directly to Daycare Centers, After Schools, and Churches! Tailored for toddler’s ages 18 months to 2 years, preschooler’s ages 3 to 5, and tumblers ages 6 to 10. Royal Gymnastics is the perfect blend of fun and development in a meticulous organized and safe environment. Our program stands out with its unwavering commitment to enhancing the physical abilities and psychomotor development of young children.
Prior to Royal Gymnastics, my roles as General Manager at Eastern Gymnastics Academy, Pyramid Club, and Rio Sport Center further solidified my reputation for achieving profit gains, implementing successful marketing strategies, and introducing innovative programs.
 
Education:
 I earned my BS in Physical Education from Gama Filho University in Rio de Janeiro in 1983. Recognized by the World Education Service in New York, my degree laid the foundation for a career devoted to the development of athletes and the promotion of a healthy lifestyle.
 
Certifications:
 In addition to my academic achievements, I proudly hold certifications such as Pro-Member of the American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM), Safety & Risk Management Certified from USA Gymnastics University, Gymnastics Instructor Certified, and U.S. Center for Safe Sport trained. With First Aid, CPR, and AED certifications from the American Safety & Health Institute, I ensure the safety and well-being of all participants.
